Sharp Brings Popular Under-Bench Microwave Drawer to Australia

Sharp is preparing to reshape Australian kitchens with a new take on the microwave with the Australian model launched at IFA 2025, also in attendance was Sharp global executives. 

Distributed locally by Tempo, the Sharp Microwave Drawer has been custom-designed for Australian homes, offering more benchtop space and fresh options for kitchen designers. The unit features Sharp’s Easy Touch Automatic Drawer System, delivering smooth one-touch opening and closing while minimising spills.

Priced at $3,499, the drawer-style microwave is manufactured at Sharp’s UK factory and has already proven a strong performer in the US market. It will be available in Australia from October, with distribution confirmed through premium retailer e&s, now owned by JB Hi-Fi.

Sharp product marketing manager Matt Pearce said: “In the coming year, we are looking to solidify and build on the strengths of the Sharp brand. The microwave oven drawer has been a huge success in the US, and we’re aiming for the same impact here in Australia.”

With kitchen designers increasingly focused on space efficiency and clean design, Sharp’s new microwave drawer is tipped to become a go-to choice for premium builds and renovations.
